Few probs, well like one to be exact. Sometimes around 2000 RPMS my car sutters. If I slowly give it more gas it doesn't go any where. If I give it alot of gas it snaps out quickly. It'll do this in 2nd, 3rd, I havnt gotten to 4th when it was doing this. It usually only last like 5 minutes then fixes it self. Any ideas?

Second my idle sometimes my car surges from 500 to 1000 RPMS. Its real quick and continues for a little then will go away. I don't know if this is something common with the Mod motor or not.

I think it's just a dirty MAF, but I could be wrong.

iac or maf. classic case.

I was think the MAF just needs to be cleaned. I'll buy some cleaner and clean it.

Whats IAC?

IACs need to be cleaned also, they are known to go bad on our cars....mine crapped out @ 50k miles and i just replaced it. Very easy....it would make me stall out since i have an auto.

I'll check it out in the Haynes manual, and do it this weekend. Any tips and or tricks? I know you need to be extremely careful with the MAF.

I would recommend doing a full tune up man. Idle air controller for the surges, then clean the maf with maf cleaner like everyone suggested. Then I would do plugs and wires. Simple insurance you know. When I first got mine it wasn't peppy at all, until i did a full tune up on it, then it came alive.
