Got my 5-speed installed into my '98 (V6 automatic) finally. Still need a few things to finish the project up, but all in all I'm pleased it's finally nearing completion.
I still have to either get my computer re-flashed so it stops thinking it has an automatic that isn't working right, or find another computer out of a manual car to stuff in there.
All in all, it wasn't really THAT hard of a swap. Worst part of the job was actually just getting the exhaust out of the way so the automatic would come out... Helps having a complete donor car, as well. I do need to find the wiring harness that goes from up in the engine bay down to the O2 sensors and backup switch, though... the '94 donor car had a different plug up top for that. So, until then, I just don't have backup lights.
The only real issue I've noticed is that the transmission sits up closer to the floorpan than it did in the other car, which sits the shifter itself up a bit higher than I'd like, but it's getting a short-throw next month anyway so that's a non-problem.
