try cleaning the maf then unplug the battery so the puter can relearn the new signal. that should take care of the 176 &177 hopefully

well by the looks of it it looks like u have a short in your system also a MAF possibly bad which would cause most of those codes, check your grounds coming off your battery check your grounds on the block, check for any burned wires etc..

unless you have a spare don't buy one yet. just clean it first. do you have a k&n type filter the oil from those type filters tend to deposit on the sensor and give the puter the wrong info

well i guess that's ruled out then. i'll have to do more research try to clear codes and see which ones come back after driving that will determine the hardcodes from intermitant

well i talked to my buddy and he told me to try runnign it in a guess speed density? ran it all day like that and the car seems to run alright but stalls once in a while. does that help determine anything?

Yep, when I was splicing my tps back together I got a maf code a few others out of nowhere cause I had the ground wire and another mixed up. So this a possibility.

Since you dont know when those codes actually occured, you should clear them out with your reader and then drive the car and see what comes back up.

One thing I know though is your 02s should probably be replaced. (code 176 & 177)

just because you have o2 codes doesn't mean your o2 sensors need to be replaced. Lets get that clear. o2 sensors monitor the exhaust gases to create the correct fuel curve for the current situation. They tell you how your engine is running. If you have a fuel dumping problem and get an o2 sensor code you can replace your o2's all you want. Its not going to necessarily fix the problem. It just depends on if they are commanding the right fuel curve for the current situation.

In this case they are telling you that you exhaust is not correct for the parameters of a tuned up mustang. Clean that MAF, purge the codes and see what happens. The majority of those codes are probably related to that.

Let us know what you find.

i had half those codes when my distributer ate itself...i know it sounds far-fetched but parts that fail in one system may trigger codes from various others. ie. my distributer took a shit and i was getting maf, fuel pump, etc codes...

just something to think about...

Yeah and most people somehow think that O2s almost never need replacing. They'll have a car that is now 14 yrs old, but because its got less than 80k miles on it and the car still runs, they figure they are ok.
Even though their estimated useful life is about 5 yrs and / or 50k miles.

So whatever, dont replace them... I'm probably way off here even though it worked in BOTH of mine.

Well actually o2 sensors def need to be replaced when they go bad. And they do go bad. When your not getting any codes and the car is dumping fuel before opp temp. comes. They can last a long time but 50000 is pretty common. Newer parts are cheaper and not as durable it seems. I have replaced mine so I am not saying they aren't bad. But usually they are telling you there is another problem.

No worries, even as a 10 year tech I still have to sort through things dealing with o2 sensors to determine the actual issue.
