Hey guys. I just wanted to share with you folks my recent upgrades on the 95 cobra. I did the LED light bulb swap for the gauge cluster and hvac controls, as seen in the how-to section. What a night and day difference. I can finally see clearly and the blue gives the cabin a whole different feel.

I treated the Cobra to a stereo upgrade as well and chose an Alpine deck, wired to the factory amp. :headbang:

I went a different route when I modified the dash clock. I removed the pod, disassembled the unit, and painted the actual clock display with a product called Krylon "Stained Glass Color" in blue, obviously. It's an aerosol spray can and I threw on about 5 coats. I found it at my local Michael's craft store and runs about $10 for the can. Well worth it IMO. The results speak for themselves. Also, I had to remove the factory "plastic tinted cover" and replaced it with a small piece of laminate for the colors to clearly display.

Hope this helps anyone in the future who plans to modify their clock. They also carry different colors that might be of some use for others. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but they get the job done. :eek:ccasion14:

Does your headunit change colors too? Like the red to green? It'd be kinda cool of you could change it to blue as well

Nicely done, interesting treatment you gave the clock there.
Thank you, sir. I couldn't for the life of me find a piece of blue transparent plastic sheet or something of the sort. I found a roll of blue window tint on ebay, but for $20 plus shipping for the one inch square that's needed, no thanks. Figured this would be a decently priced alternative for those who were in the same situation as me.

No it doesn't. It displays just as you see. I did see a deck at bestbuy that does what you described.

i wonder if the stock green tinted lens could have the green sanded off and be re buffed and then tinted or painted?

who needs a damn clock anyway? I prefer a temp/direction/radar detector as it actualy gets used, and is blue as well....
