That's not outrageous, they are probably going to get the Parkway kit off the bay for 1400, the rest is labor. Lobor on a top end change is going to stack up to about 12-14 hours probably.

Look for a local forum for people to help you out man. Even if you have to go watch someone else's swap, you'll learn a ton, whiloe watching them break their stuff!!! Lol, seriously, my local club here throws mod parties, supply some beer and pizza and everyone is more than happy to cruise down and help you out, or talk trash while they eat your food :knuppel2:

That's what I'd do.

Why don't you just do PI cams and intake? The install is so much easier, you won't end up with the higher compression, and you can save a lot of money from the price of the heads, extra gaskets, and install labor. If you get a pair of PI Romeo cams you can swap them and the PI intake manifold in half a day in your driveway.

that isnt that outrageous, depends where you live. im right outside DC and i was quoted the same thing by a reputable mustang shop. i had the intake done by my local mechanic for 300 tho. all depends who you know i guess. good luck tho!

o well if that is the price of the materials and then the work then it isn't that bad... but i would look for a complete pi motor for that much.. i got all my stuff used for like 600/700 dollars. Heads need a little work but nothing major... i'm going to go on and get some cams while i'm at it though. But seriously, look at the threads on here and look at the how to's on the net. This isn't that bad. But i have rebuilt motors before and all but not a 4.6

Is this your daily driver or not? if so then you might want to take a week off to do it and do it right... just take your time. I'm thinking it will take me like 3 days to do it... but i also have a lift and a full shop with tools... even though there is a 700 rwhp svo and a 11 second lx setting in there now :pimp2:

yo man, just check regional forums and ask some ppl around. just like that other guy up there, a mod party with beer & food would be tons of fun and get your shit done at the same time with others helping.

and you dont need a whole week off to do this swap, it took me & my dad only 12 hours to do the pi swap and thats with going slowly making sure i had all the right parts and everything organized, going to the shop several times taking trips total of 2hours to get the right bolts (since i switched from romeo to windsor) or random gaskets since i ripped a few.

Might be hard since he is 17 to get beer ya know... but yea i don't see it taking that long... but after i get it back together i would let it sit a while before putting the fluids back in there. But thats just me.
