I agree that that looks just like an overlay. There is a solution though if you want a nice look for that price. You can cut out the face of your original gauge so that the lights are only showing through the white face part. I know your thinking hell no but theres a trick. I have the indiglo gauges and still couldnt see the turn signal, bright light, or warning markings very clearly. I seperated the gauges from the lens which houses the overlay. Sprinkled baby powder on top of the gauges and layed the overlay back on and firmly pressed down. Removed the overlay and could see the impression perfectly. Why? So you can make your cuts in the area that the overlay covers so if you ever go back to stock you can just slip the pieces back in and no visible cuts will be seen. Might sound half assed but it worked perfectly. Not sure if you would just need to remove the whole gauge face for an overlay but removing the section for turn signals and warnings makes indiglo gauges alot better. And yes the baby poweder came off without any problems. Others might have better ideas but thats my two cents.
