Ok guys. I've read the program thread for the keyless entry remotes and I don't have the "box" that everyone is talking about. Is it in the same place for convertibles? If so, then I've wasted $30 on a remote that isn't going to work when it get's here. I don't have the box or any wiring to go with it. I have one plug that is attached to the body but it only has one wire running to it and it's blue/brown. Any idea's guys? Thanks.

what year is the car? The newer Fords program the keyless fobs with the ignition, not sure what year that started though.

that started in 99

I have keyless entry. It's a '98. (Not to be confused with the dealer installed keypad system in the door)
Has anyone seen an SN95 or "New Edge" car with the (dealer installed only) keypad system in the door?? I know it was available but have never seen one with it. Just pix in the Ford accessories catalog.

I have the keyless electronics module for sale but you need to see if your car is wired for it to be any good...in the trunk drivers side rear panel...most likely not though.

i was saying that specific procedure to program the car started in 99.

my parents old explorer had that keypad on the door. it was definitely a life saver at times

They can be wired up. All you need is patience, schematic and a brain. I personally know of one yanked from a taurus and installed in an 88' fox.

If you look around the local salavage yards you might be able to find the module.
Before you do, look in the trunk to see if the wiring harness is in there.
While you there get the window express down module for the drivers door so you can put in the passenger side so both windows will have the express down feature.

that key pad thing doens't bother me on trucks and stuff but i think it would look like hell on a mustang.

How about if the door handle is shaved and all that is there is the key pad with a door pop'r

if it was somehow flush with the body it might look decent, but i'm not a fan of shaved handles and door poppers so I'd never do it.

I got a brain..used to read schematics (electrical) for a living...just do not think it is worth replacing the wiring harness to do this...I am going to install an alarm which I want anyway..and get the remote door operation that way. Just seems simpler that way to me & kills 2 birds with one stone.

i dont think you have it.

unless i am mistaken, convertable's box should be in the same place as the coupes. i saw a 98 Vert at the junkyard and the box was back there.

i checked mine, and i dont have that open connector, i do however have the brown one that is connected to that harness

Is there another wire harness that I'm missing or does the Antitheft box plug into that wire?
