my question is, what makes a cobra a cobra? a vin number? ....

if i get a stripped 94... drop in a 94 cobra motor, change the body parts, throw in leather seats with a cobra logo, floor mats, steering wheel, and everything else is aftermarket (i.e. suspension) its not a cobra? because it didnt roll off the assembly line as one?

something i craft with my own two hands... with my own blood sweat and tears poured into it.... isnt a cobra because of 1 letter in a vin number badge?

i just wanna make sure im getting this right... :p id hate to accidently build a forba with my own two hands to find out its not a cobra...

It's the fact of that's how the car rolled off the assembly line. What you just described would be a good Cobra replica, but you can't make the car something it wasn't to start with. Just like if you make an R replica, which is very very easy to do, it's still NOT a Cobra R. Same thing with regular Cobras, mach1s, Bullitts, etc.

I didn't spend a lot of money making my car something it's not...

no, you spent alot of money on a car with a special name :p

i dono... it just donest seem worth it to me for a 5.0 cobra (personally...) Im big into modifying the cars, so... everything that came cobra from the factory is going to be aftermarket for the most part anyways... ya know?

for the 4.6 cobras i can understand for the DOHC, but even then i didnt dish out the bux on a cobra ... :p

Honestly Cobras aren't really that much more than GTs to start, and I feel like I got a good deal on mine when I bought it so what's the problem? Not to mention Cobras hold their value better than GTs so IMO that more than makes up for the difference. Just saying I wouldn't say i spent "a lot" of money on my car just cause it was a Cobra.

If you're into modding cars that's fine, buy a GT and make it sick fast, but don't slap Cobra stuff on it and try to pass it off as such.

Also I'm noticing a trend here. People without Cobras tend to feel like you do and vice versa. The truth is u can go through this with a ton of different cars, it's all the same thing.
