Leaking Antifreeze

I just dropped my car off at my local mechanic yesterday. It was running pretty hot on my way to work, once I parked quite a bit of smoke came out from under the hood. I checked my coolant level and it was bone dry. I refilled it to normal level and drove it about 5 miles, and rechecked. It is coming out somewhere behind my alternator. I am guessing the intake manifold is to blame but not sure.

Tons of white smoke was bellowing out of my exhaust while I was driving also. The car ran at perfect temperature after I put the coolant in, but as it drained it progressively climbed. Any ideas?

white smoke from your exhaust? Does it smell like coolant? How's your oil. Sounds like a Head gasket to me.

Ok, Shop called they said its my intake gasket. Does that sound right? The white smoke coming from my exhaust is whats odd to me. If the intake gasket is leaking antifreeze quickly would the exhaust start bellowing white smoke?

Also, I havent had an oil change in like 12000 miles. Ive needed to, but have been cash strapped for a while now and....ahh i have no excuse. I will be getting my oil changed while its in the shop.
