Not to hijack but I've wanted a 3" cowl for a long time and I was wondering how much you all you paid for a paint job on the hoods? I would post in the garage section but with all you guys right here with custom hoods.... Thanks

LoL your kidding right? I have a nice spray gun but I don't have a nice booth where I can keep at least some of the dust out.

Nope... Sprayed my hood with white spray paint and then I used clear coat from a spray can. Then i got tired of all white and did the black stripe on the hood. I didn't clear that though cause i wasn't sure if I was gonna like it or not. I need to redo it and clear the black stripe now.

Agreed there. The guy I bought my car from got one of those 300 dollar Maaco paint jobs on it so I really didn't care how the hood looked. The car paint ain't nothing to write home about ya know.

Yeah I know what you mean. I can see my reflection on my paint now so I would like to keep it that way. I was thinking probably around $400.00 for just the hood(decent paint job).

every shop is going to vary, but i paid like $400 and this was done by a show quality shop. So im sure you can even get it cheaper than that

So I was pretty much right on with my guess, your hood looks like a show paint job. I'm going to check around and see if If I can get 1 done for about $300.

Mine too. Funny how both of our cars paint is the same quality, and both of our cars are white. I'm missing the paint from under the door on the drivers side, and on top of the rear quarter panel on both sides and some of the roof. You just used regular spray paint or something special? It doesn't have to be perfect, but i dont want it real noticeable.

Mine is a little bit behind where yours is. It's interesting where it comes off. Ill probably just spray the bottom of my door and give it a try to see how it turns out. or maybe ill try some automotive paint.
