I acquired an 89 4 cyl. hatch last year, couldn't get to it any quicker for family and financial reasons. Yesterday, I bought an 87 lincoln 5.0 motor and the matching aod. Now I have several questions. The intake I don't plan on using, but I noticed it faces the other way like on the explorers, which have good heads on them. Do the lincolns have these heads as well? Also, I've heard that the lincoln aod has a longer tailshaft. Isn't the tailshaft interchangeable? If it is, I don't have a problem, if it isn't, will I need to go get a more specific aod? Another thing, once I figure everything out and try to put these in, the hatch I bought was a 4 cyl. Is there any computer difference, if I need to come across another one, would an sn95 computer have any advantages?

Okay, what you have is a non-H.O. motor. They do have the E7 heads but the throttle body is smaller. I'm not sure about the A.O.D. . I do have a fox intake for the H.O. set-up if you're interested.
