Heres the idea, Would like to have the bottom end setup as well as the top end setup as far as the perfect heads, intake, and cam, block, pistons, rods, etc... to push the most horsepower possible. Also would like to run a remote twin turbo setup. Basically in your opinion what would be the perfect combination to make the most power out of a remote turbo setup for the motor from the ground up. Any and all advice welcome. Thanks

What is your realistic budget for this, and whose TT kit do you plan to run?

The best option would be to get with a custom cam grinder, Jay Allen in my book, and he will guide you in the right direction.

You are talking some major buck here. A good 15,000 for a cheap setup that is put together correctly. New block, heads, stroker, cam, intake, turbo kit, tune, all the little misc. things to get,

yeah i know, it's not for me, one of my friends. I cant talk him into anything myself he wants to hear it from other people as well. I dont think he is really worried about pricing at this time, more interested in what the best products out there are and then will decide what he wants to do from that. If you guys know of any good turbos for him that would be good to as he really dont have a clue.

Dart block, bore and stroke to 385 (maximum recomended)

CHI 260 3V Cleveland heads (Australia)

CHI 3V intake manifold, machined to fit 8.200" deck height

All forged internals with H-beam rods

ARP everything

Custom Ground Cam

Harland Sharp, Scorpion, or Yella Terra (Australia) roller rockers

Competition Cams Beehive springs

I don't know what the latest is in turbos.

If money were no object and that was the direction he wanted to go in an engine, that's what I would build. Racing only of course.

You guys all think so small... :)

World Aluminum 9.5" block, 445 cubic inches
Victor Glidden heads, titanium intake and inconel exhaust valves
Sonny Bryant Crank
Oliver billet Rods
Ross Pistons
Hogans Intake
FTI or Cammotion Solid Roller
Jesel shaft rockers
Jesel belt drive
Twin GT42Rs
FAST XFI

...and so on and so forth.

Of course, that's if you don't want a 600 cube big block with twin T88s, which would be an even better alternative.

But since this whole thread is about a pipe dream, all of this is neither here nor there.

Well Paul, I thought that we were only looking at things that could use the smallblock Windsor motor mounts. :hammer:

I agree, there's lots more otherwise. I would go with a 9.5 Cleveland race block with the larger CHI 3V heads. I agree with you on the Ross pistons, or perhaps Arias.

The CHI heads have been winning the Engine Masters competition for several years now and I know a number of Australians that have built some scarey serious Clevelands (factory block sometimes) that make 500 HP (stock block) up to 720 HP (race block) normally aspirated. Of course that is with stroker motors from 393 up to 438 I believe.

By the way, I've got a 393 Cleveland stroker up my sleeve. I just gotta wait until the body is done before I can start the engine. In a dyno'd test engine (383) and a lesser intake manifold than I am going to use, power was in the 500 HP, 500 ft. lb. range, and with street manners and pump gas. :coolsmiley:

We need some sort of limitation to make this more feasible....Small blocks only or something like that...Other wise I'd say a big block with two huge turbos....

thanks for everything guys been really busy lately with school and work and everything. But here are some limitations. Would like small block preferably and has to be able to withstand upwards of 500 hp so definitely an after market block. I don't think he would want to go over 600 because he still wants a good daily driver but something that will blow everyone else away. I know it's probably possible but would really like to make it that far without the turbo if at all possible. You guys have been a tremendous help already. So... small after market block, best of everything in your opinion. And would like to have all forged just in case the turbos are added later on. also entire drive train if you wish as well

500 HP in a smallblock (race block) NA is possible, but not streetable. If he is looking form something to drive on the street as well then the turbo can make that happen.

As far as a daily driver, yes, he could drive it daily with the turbo, but at a sacrifice. It will not be a "nice" daily driver, but it could be driven daily.
