You will need 24lb injectors. I'd advise you NOT to buy the topend kit. You could piece together a setup that would run better IMO. I'm not a fan of Trickflow intakes and their cam is nothing great. The heads are great heads but I could sell you my heads and custom cam for $1,000 plus shipping. All you would need then is an intake (I can sell you my intake too lol) and put it together. DO NOT buy pushrods until the heads are on the car and you can check the correct length you need.

My car with H/C/I made 328rwhp 337rwtq and on a 100 shot it made 404rwhp and 444rwtq. Also it got much better gas mileage than it did stock.

Well, I have a Cobra upper and Lower. So I would be set. If you have your head and cams within the next month I will buy it from you. Shoot me a PM with exactly what you have!

PM sent your way. :thumb: If I were you I would port your Cobra intake some. It flows about as much as my Performer so my cam should be perfect for your setup.

I am getting the lower ported and maybe the upper for a 75MM TB. I'm in contact with Tom Moss. As soon as I get the cash it'll be ported.

Send that intake to tom moss to get it ported out to match up with whatever heads you get. Don't waste your money on the upper, the lower is the bottleneck. 70mm TB is fine, a bigger one would be pointless. Order some 24 lb injectors and a properly cal'd meter. Then MEASURE your pushrod length and order pushrods. Also find out from Stopsign32v if those heads will clear stock pistons with that cam if you do buy his heads. But you should still clay it to be sure.

My pistons are uncut and its a stock shortblock. Jay designed my cam to work with the AFR heads and stock uncut pistons. This is the advantage 165s have over TW heads. You can run more cam with them without worrying about piston contact. I am also giving him my pushrods. Hopefully they will work for him but I made it clear to him that he should still measure like you said. :thumb:

Sounds good man, T moss sure knows his stuff when it comes to porting! I'm not sure if you need a 75mm TB but it sure wont hurt!

Don't buy his heads! Even he has said they suck and the Twisted Wedge heads are better!! :rollinglaugh: :uglystupid2:

But to say AFR 165s out power a set of Trick Flow heads is retarded. The ONLY advantage they have that I believe is true is the fact that on a stock uncut piston 5.0 you can run more cam than you can with TW heads. Other than that a set of 165s are worthless.

Not to jack a thread, but I wanted to see what length pushrod you used. I'm currently running stock length on my afr 165's and I think it's hurting my power.

I can get one of the adjustable types here at work to check for correct length. I bought the car wrecked and it had a mild cam in it already, not sure what the cam is. When I put the afr heads on I got some hardend pushrods the same length. maybe a bad move and wasted money.....goin for a dyno and tune tuesday. I'd like to see some numbers like yours.

I believe completely that my numbers were so high because of the cam. It is one hell of a cam and it sounds alot more mean than any "stage 1" off the shelf cam I have heard. Jay knows his chit!

Running a too big pushrod can **** up your valvetrain and failed valvetrains often take the whole engine with them. Even if you are close, that dyno tuner will likely tell you that your valves aren't properly adjusted and it could mess up your dyno day. Plus why pay for a tune for a combo potentially not set up right?

Take a few hours to remove the upper intake/VCs and use an adjustable pushrod and some checking springs to measure the length you need. You will need an air compressor to hold the valves closed while you swap out the springs for the checking springs though. You have to use check springs since you can't swap the lifters out for solid checking lifters.

since I personally did not change the cam, I stuck with the same length pushrod. I have driven the car for over a year now and have finally decided to take it in for a tune. I've checked the valve train three or four times and have not noticed any abnormal wear.
Sorry dude, I'll lay off your thread, but I'll let you know what the tuner says.....thanks
