Depends? How your gonna set it up? If your gonna do a IN/OUT on the inlet side of the side of the mufflers with 180 pipes, then yes. Though once you wind it up it shouldn't really matter.
I've seen pics of streight-though setups, could go that route though?
when I first got my cobra it had side exhaust on it, I took it to the dyno and the owner of the shop said from his experience the side kits cuts a couple hp off the sheet because of all the extra bends and curves the kits have.........makes sense to me
yes the kits rob a couple hp. but, as ET said, the custom setups with the stock type mufflers won't lose you any hp/tq. you may actual gain 1 or 2 HP/TQ
I've always advised .. if you'd miss 1-5 hp or ft/lbs or torque ... don't think about it.
You coud lose that in poor maintenance and weather conditions. :nonono:
My mufflers dump out as soon as they exit the mufflers. I can't see any reason why there would be a gain from ANY side exhaust (if not a loss). All the side exhuast i've seen from FRPP seem to LOSE hp/tq
