Low Coolant idiot light

Reservoir and radiator levels are bang on balls accurate. Coolant low light comes on… and as you can tell by the Temperature gauge, I just started out on an errand.
Wut the????

Clean the connection where the sensor is. Happens very frequently with these cars.

No problem Daryl. Clean it up real well, and then maybe a dab of dielectric grease to help prevent it from reccuring.

Mine did the same. I tried cleaning it but it didn't help. LMR sells a new one.

I'm under the hood enough and used to watching my coolant levels, so I just removed the idiot light bulb.

Is something supposed to be attached to these 2 tabs? They’re located at the bottom of the line that goes into the radiator reservoir.

The two tabs just measure conductivity of the liquid between them. The coolant basically shorts between them and make a connection. If the tabs are submerged in liquid and the light stays on, the sensor is likely bad and it needs to be replaced.
