In my 5.0 I want to use Lucas Oil stabilizer. The motor holds five quarts so do I put in 4 quarts of reg. oil and one quart stabilizer?

Yep, that's what you do.

I used it once in my '95 GT daily driver that burns a LOT of oil. It had a dramatic decrease in the amount of time that passed before I had to add another quart. That being said, the cost of that stuff outweighs the benefit to me - so I just keep a case of oil in the trunk. :)

lol Paul...

I used the oil stabalizer when I changed my heads. They say you only need to replace it every 30K or so. Keeps the engine from dry starts.

I used that stuff in my 89 SHO that burned oil. It really did help for a period of time but soon enough it would be back to burning oil just like before. So it should "help" stop the burning but only for a short period of time. I've had that same effect on all the oil additives not just lucas.

Like I said, it helps well with dry starts. To use it once every 30K, the $10 it costs doesn't bother me.

I too keep extra quart in the trunk. Not a case though...I thought everyone did this already

Ummm, a lot more than that. LOL

When I do a steady cruise on the freeway for 50 miles or so, then turn off the ramp, I blow a spy-hunter style smokescreen out the pipes that blinds tailgaters. :)

I burn so much oil that I rarely change it. It just sort of "changes itself." I add as much as a quart every week or two. My engine is not exactly in top running condition anymore . I just keep driving it. It's a daily driver so I just don't care anymore.

All of you running lucas oil stabilizer might want to read uo at BOBISTHEOILGUY. Its not doing you any good, and more often than not doing damage to your engine.
