Alright guys I may be able to get my hands on the complete 460 system. This is possible to install on a 97GT vert that never had the 460 in it before correct?

How complete is the system? There's a lot of small sections of the harness, you have to have.

IMO, it's retarded to go through the trouble when a low cost alpine 4ch and halfway decent speakers will run circles around the M460

Or at least a diagram of the wiring harnesses and some knowledge in car electronics.

But I agree with ole sxynerd, throwing in aftermarket would be a lot better than the Mach setup.

Which speakers and which deck. You dont have to do a 4 channel amp out the gate.

by complete there is alot of hard to find pieces, and then some super hard to find pieces. Don't forget that it will require changing the door panels to add the tweeter pods. The hard to find pieces are the wire harnesses and these are great parts to pull for $$ if you are not using them and easy to pull too. The main harness between the deck/amps I got $60 for as it is soo hard to find, but the super hard to find piece is the harness that connects to the main and then goes through the door boot into the door. This is tied into the factory harness so you would almost need to hit a junkyard to get it.

As they said if you are building a perfectly stock looking and sound stang then ok but otherwise the time and trouble is nto worth it.

Right now I have a Kenwood deck. I'm not looking to blow away my ear drums, just good, solid, honed in sound. I mostly play my iPod when I'm driving

alpine 4ch, a set of components and dexent rear speakers will out class the 460 in every way and not be over powering.

Yep. I would go that route. If you dont want a 4 channel or cannot afford on on your budget I would just suggest at least getting new front/rear speakers.

as they said you would be better off building ontop of what you have, putting in the stock stereo is not bad but limiting.......

Infinity components from best buy are great! I've installed dozens of them. but watch which ones you buy, you'll need the 4ohm not the 2ohm.
