when i bought the mustang, the mach 460 system was already installed and from what i've read this system was not a option for my year mustang. so some days i can play the radio with out any issues but some days i turn on the radio and get road noise, loud noises, and engine whine. i already replaced the deck because i thought the deck was bad but it was the deck, so im stuck on what it could be. any ideas on what it could be?

not sure what year yours is but anything 94-on can have the mach system. The sound in your vid sounds either more like a blown speaker, something slapping the speaker while it moved, or they could have possibly done something wrong with the amplifiers. Do you still have both rear stock amps? Are the speakers stock or have they been swapped out also?

my car is a 94, i read somewhere on another forum that they didnt come as an option for my year, well i was missed informed then but i do still have both the amps in the rear, as far as speakers go i believe they are stock speakers but i have to pull the covers off to see if they are.. no matter where the volume is it makes that noise and im getting alot of road noise coming through the speakers also, like an amp isnt ground right. when i rev the engine the whine gets louder also. im just trying to save some money without taking it to an audio shop.

yes mach systems started in 94. the mach 1000 came out later and was not available in 94.

With out knowing if the speakers are stock or not leaves a big question. If someone took out the stock 8 ohm woofers and replaced them with a standard 4 ohm full range 5 x 7 that could be a big part of the problem. You would need to pull the door panel off or would need to drop the rear enclosure to see if they have been replaced. You might also just look to see if the rear enclosure has been removed as if it has, that was why....

Start simple and just try grabbing/jiggling the wire hrns going to the factory amps in the back while the radio has power. See if the sound changes at all and don't be afraid to give it a fairly good tug/pull to test the connections as it should not be an issue. A lot of mach amps have been going out lately from what I have been reading here I think they have just seen their time come/go now after almost 20 yrs of use.

a 3rd and easy option is to check the electrical noise condenser that is located on the ignition coil under the hood. It looks like a small black AA battery, an A23 size if you know that that is. I think it only has one or two wires and is just basically made to reduce the noise the coil creates in doing its job. Again turn on the radio and see if adjusting(jiggling/tugging/pulling if you want the tech term) makes any difference in the sound.
