hey fellas, i'm new on here and I have question about the sound system. My mach 460 system is crappy and I was wondering if you can just swap out the factory speakers with aftermarket speakers. I know that there is a special connection for the mach 460 speakers can I buy a adapter to just plug and play aftermarket speakers or do i have to rewire the whole system? any ideas. thank you

To my knowledge you can swap the speakers, just figure out which wire is which and hook it up

If you want to remove the mach 460 you... have to rewire each speaker

well kinda-sorta-somtimes-maybe-not-really saint.

The woofers are an 8 ohn 5 x 7 woofer so swapping them out with teh standard 4 ohm full range driver = an unhappy stock amp = bad sound. But if you have replaced your head unit/radio already there is an easy go-around to wire it up and have it playing. If you still have the stock deck though, your options are very limited. The only thing I ever saw that worked was a 5 x 7 dual 4 ohm woofer sold somewhere wierd that I thought might work, but was not sure.

Its not uncommon for people to keep the old drivers though. You can post a WTB add in the classifieds and I would be suprised if you cant find a old stock speaker for cheap on there.

well kinda. Check out my cardomain page, ride 2395420 and page 2 shows the bypass hrns you need to wire your decks speaker outputs too if it is not already. Once that is done, all you need to do is use the speaker wire that goes to the tweet to drive your speakers. The bypass hrns goes straight from the back of the deck to the tweets, so just use that as your signal wire and you have bypassed the mach system.
