Im installing a mark 8 fan on my 1994 mustang gt and was wondering if i could just plug it in the stock plug and if it will work ok. I know it takes more power but i have a 150 amp alternator. Is it ok to install the fan this way? Has anyone installed one on a 94 95 mustang? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Yes, it just plugs in. No problems. The Mark VIII fan is bigger than the radiator though. I had a custom shroud built for mine so it would fit.

The Mark VIII fan itself is taller than the radiator. (at least it is on my 5.0)

It's not as simple as a rectangle with a hole in it. Basically, there is a provision for the fan to extend beyond the bottom of the radiator, but be blocked by the shroud to prevent air from being blown over anything but the radiator. :)

My Fluidyne is thick, but not 3". It cleared with the Mark VIII fan. Of course, I also had an aftermarket k-member so who knows where that actually put the motor in relation to the car.
