Performance improved. The modular motors from 96-98 had non PI heads/cams/intake. 99-04 had the PI H/C/I and made 30 or 40 more hp if I remember correct.

It equals 3.14 :crazy2:

Performance Improvement. It is talking about the enhancements that ford did to the 4.6's Heads Cams and Intake on the 99-04 Mustang. The 96-98's are known as the NonPi.

My buddy is a mechanic at Ford and he calls them power improved. He owns a non pi, I'll double check with him to make sure that's the actual technical name.

P.I. in the Modular world mean "Power Improvement"

.... Make in the 60's and 70's it ment "Police Interceptor"..... to this day for dad still argues with me that it mean police interceptor even though i show him Ford stuff saying power improvement.

Hey Dalamar, don't mean to get off subject but I had to ask. What skirts and bumpers are those on your car? That car is so smooth ! I think the wing is S281 right ?

a little off subject but idk that much about the modular motors. my buddy is thinking about gettin one tho.....so i am trying to learn more about them. if u had a 98 gt non PI motor, what would be better? To get the PI H/C/I setup or just an aftermarket H/C/I kit? i would assume the aftermarket one would make more power but would probably cost more right?

Well, there's the PI heads and IM swap, and you can add different cams, porting ect - which does cost more.

you can to a few ways, IM and cams
headswap and cams
blower

combo of all ect.
check out the stickeys in the 96-98 forum, there's good onfo on these subjects.
