but are the T56's out of a camaro and terminator the same? I figured since they're both tremec products they should be the same, or do they have differences? IT's just that the terminator t56's run +$1k and camaro ones are about ~$500

They are different. The Chevy version is Hydro Clutch instead of Cable. Of course the Bellhousings are different also. Im pretty sure there are other differences as well.

The internals are different too from what I understand. Even down to different gearing (my trans builder informed me) and they aren't as strong because they didn't need to be. There are 3 different t56s. The cobra, Camaro/vette and the vipers.

Not a bad question, actually I think the GM T56s are better equipped stock as far as gearing and 26 spine input shafts.
