Hey, hope you can help me out.

My spider gears have just been torn all up. And I looked at summit for a mini spool($89.00) to just replace
it. The tech guy said I will have to have a c-clip eliminator kit( $151.00) to install this spool.

Is this true or can I just put in the spool and go?

anybody have any advice for me.

thanks

I have asked a similar question to some local guys that run 8.8's and all of them swear by going to a junkyard and getting internals from an explorer rear end and getting 31 spline axles. These guys race every weekend and are leaving the line on spray and have yet to have a rearend grenade on them.

if you drive your car on the street a spool is not the way to go, if its just a track car then its a good choice. to answer your question yes with a spool you need a c clip eliminator . in the regular stock traction loc you can look at your spider gears and take the c clips off to pull your axles out, on a spool its a sealed unit you just stick your axles into the ends, so you need the eliminator to be able to keep them in place. hope this helps good luck :thumb:

if you drive the car on the street fro any reason (even to the track) i would avoid a mini spool.... but if you trailer the Car then Go Ahead and Grab the Spool
