true posi has no slip whatsoever, both axles pull equally all the time. LS allows one to turn a small amount before locking them both together into posi style. It makes for smooth turns. With a true posi you have one wheel hopping in turns due to the different speeds they need to travel during the turn.

the clutches in your diff are shot... rebuild it.

I'm diff-tarded and have no idea how that works. Do you have to take apart the diff completely to put in new clutches? Is it something a professional should do, or should I just go for it myself? I need to replace the clutches sometime, too to make my car more than just a one wheel squeeler.

You have to remove the axles so you can pull the differential out.

I was always under the impression that Posi or PosiTraction was the GM name for there LSD and that is the only difference between the two. I think you are referring to a Locker when you say both wheels have an equal amount of power applied all the time. I thought it was best to have LSD for a street driven car, since it allows the rear wheels to spin at different speeds around turns and such. I may be wrong on more than one point here so take it for what it's worth.

is this for some sort of racing or just street use? because your mods list shouldnt be too much your stock rear end could handle. and if its for drag racing, just wait til it breaks and upgrade to a 31 spline lol.

true posi doesnt mean that the wheels spin the same no matter what, the only way you can get both wheels to spin the same is when you use a locking setup like having a spooled rear end, you can have a limited slip were only one wheel spins, you can limited slip thats a posi trac were one wheel unlocks around turns, or you can have a locked rear end

Better tires, and suspension componants that keep the axle better centered will vastly improve your traction.

ON street tires neither will give you any traction. Just instead of having no traction with one tire you'll have no traction with 2 tires. I would def get that fixed though other wise you just need sticky tires. I know everyone will say control arms yada yada but my car has solid lower and adjustable upper arms that will hook like mad with drag radials but still spin with street tires.
