Ok, I just got the 95 put back together after a new harmonic balancer. I out new prothane motor mounts in previously. I still have a vibration issue, but only at idle. On start up, there feels like a thunk as it begins to crank. If the idle dips below 500rpms (have that wonderful surging issue) it vibrates pretty bad. As I am cruising, I don't notice it. I noticed in the manual they say to reference the crank pulley and reinstall it in the same spot. Could it be possible that the pulley needs to be rotated? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my daily driver and I need it back on the road. It is almost time for it to go to the shop.

Rev and hold the rpms at say 1000 rpms in neutral. SOunds like when the car hits 500 rpms its fighting dying out on you and thats what causes the severe vibes. Prothane mounts will make you feel that even more than stock rubbers. I think you have a surging issue...not a pulley or balancer issue

I am going to screw with it today. If I recall, (drove it late Thursday night) it smoothed out after 1000rpms. I was going to swap the balancer off my 89 and see if it helped the situation at all. The car does have the wonderful surging issue, I had had noticed that there was a little bit of a vibration before I changed the mounts. What would explain the thunk as right as it stats to crank on startup? That just started after I put the balancer in.

No new key. I swapped my 89s balancer in to see if maybe I just got a bad balancer and I had the same result. A guy at Ford Racing thought I might have bent the snout on the shaft when I lifted the motor to put the mounts in. I would figure if that happened the balancer would be hitting the bottom water pump bolt since it is sooooo close. There are no marks on the balancer however. The only other thing I can think of is that it did damge the crank somehow or its becuase of the passenger side motor mount not wanting to sit all the way into its slot in the k-member. Damn this sucks.

Here is what the mount is doing. It sits up about an inch from the bottom like the motor is rotated to the passenger side a bit. Could this cause the issue? Also, I didn't replave the trans mount either, would that be a problem?
