After my cam swap, t45 swap, and 3.73 gears, I was getting 23mpg on the highway averaging 80mph.

I need a tune bad, but right now I'm averaging 14.5-15.2 mixed 50% city and 50% highway. I have exhaust, gears 3.73, cai, t/b and plenum, and pulleys. I might need to do a tune up as well. What spark plugs you guys are using? Oh yeah, I have 4 speed auto trans.

Not sure what the 6 gets, I beat the holy piss out of it.

20 isn't that bad if that is combined mpg. I got 30mpg when it was almost stock (K&N and exhaust) from NJ to Florida highway trip.

@20-22 avg mpg.

Went down to 12-14 avg after heads/cams etc.

Oh yeah I got a CEL too from vacuum leak/emissions equipment problem so my car has been kind of mad at me lately. I got the parts to replace it but I haven't had time to install it yet. One thing I noticed is that whatever it is when its not acting up, the car runs hard. I just need to go over it with a fine tooth comb and fix it.

According to my aeroforce gauge I'm getting 16mpg. Not bad at all for a heads/cams 2v! I'm NOT easy on the pedal either.

20 sounds about right, I get that with mixed driving. The most I've seen on a strictly highway trip with mixed a/c use was just shy of 27mph. All I've got is the pi intake/cams and typical bolt ons (TB/plenum, cai, catback)

Edit: forgot to add mines a 5 speed manual (sometimes helps mpg, sometimes hurts when I rev it like I just got my license)

I mainly drive in a mixed setting. I get 20-22mpg every single time. I have 3.27s and a 5 speed. I have cai,tb,plenum,orx, and a catback. I am scared to put cams in the car now with what I'm reading.

Just cams won't hurt it too much. If I drive it sensibly mine would be better. I'm running Fox Lake Stage 2 Heads and Hitech Stage 2 Cams with 30lb injectors and every other bolt on besides LT's. Also running basically a base tune so it's running a lil rich too.

Not to jack the thread, but I sold off my hitech stage 2's after everyone I called to degree them told me that I was guaranteed to have valves hit the pistons even with clearanced valves. Though I do have a non pi shortblock.

My heads have the oversized Ferrera valves in them that don't have the thick ridge like the factory ones do so I have a little more wiggle room cam wise.

The closer the right peddle is to the floor the worse mileage you'll get. And mystic i wouldnt worry about the cams. If youre engine breaths better it actually improves fuel mileage, the motor doesnt have to work near as hard. The side effect is you become less disciplined, and that effects mileage negatively lol.
