Mustang diet

there used to be a thread with how much weight you can shed from your vehicle piece by piece

Basically how light can i make the mustang ....i will take out everything i can excluding the drivers seat and such ....but all other seats and any other added weight .....

i would like it sub 3k lbs.

Easily doable my old car with no back seat and gutted trunk weighed 3050 with me in it

Weighed mine at the track a few weeks ago, somewhere around ~3,450. Oh yea im 210.

1/2 tank of gas, full interior, 5 speed, nothing in the trunk.

I honestly thought they weighed more.

im gonna gut everything ...maybe keep the crapet in it but the center console is coming out all seats except the driver .....radio speakers if i can ....gut trunk spoiler and maybe the hood too hahahahahah

very little gas

so why such a wide rang of wt dif?

Yea, they really dont.

My 96 gt with me in it was roughly 3300 lbs, im about 200 lbs as well.

But I also have an alum block and no rear seat/gutted trunk, on 15 inch drag wheels and skinnies.

but still, even without that weight loss, the car wouldnt be much more than 3300-3400 lbs, tops.

my engine builder has a sick fox he build with a 410, but back to topic in his fox the took the dash out and gutted it from the back side, added a tiny bit of reinforcement and it ended up weighing 2lbs total. a thought. . .

also wonder how much carpet and headliner weigh?

when I took mine out of my old car, it weighed a LOT. the headliner is cardboard basically so it's light.
