I have been tossing around the idea of removing the door stripes this Spring. I kind of like the uniqueness of the door stripe because you don't see a lot of GT SN95's with it. I plan on lowering it and getting some new rims sometime soon. Should I keep the door stripes or get rid of them? :dunno:
I don't see a lot of pics on the boards with the stripes, is that because they never had them or have a lot of you removed them?
If I keep them is that :lame: ?

get rid of them
i think the reason why you dont see them on the 94-95 gt's is because v6's came with them, most of the v6's ive seen have them , :dunno:

I know what you mean about the v6's coming with them. I am the second owner and know that the stripes were definitely on the car as new so they must have been an orderable option on the GT in '95. I guess I could always leave them on until I get everything else added and see how it looks. I'm leaning toward removing them though...

I like them actually. My car didn't come with them, but I was considering getting some. I think they are a nice accent, especially if you have something they match with on the car, like POSSIBLY white saleens on your car, but I would ask someone to photoshop those on there first. I just did the bumper/tailight blackouts on my pacific green 98 gt, and was considering getting the black stripes on the side. I don't have any problem with someone thinking my car is a v6, but you would have to be somewhat stupid considering the 3 inch duals out back, the obviously non v6 exhaust tone, and the gt badge on the side/gt lettering on the bumper. AND I'm pretty sure you can get stripes that are just like yours, except they say mustang gt, if you really care about a few oblivious people not realizing your car is a gt.

I happen to like them. Wasn't they 1st on GT's? You see a Mustang with them now and you think, "It's a sixer!"

That's actually why I am having a hard time deciding. Here's a pic of a '65 GT350 so the history is there...

I say wait and get the new wheels & lowering springs on, take a step back and decide. I'd run with the new setup for a while and then decide.

Bottom line: It's your car and you only have to satisfy 1 person

I have heard them called "V6 Pride" Stripes cause most of the V6's have them. They were probably added by the dealership. They look good on your car though, if you like them keep them :thumb:
