I have had this car since February, been a member on this site since April. Little story about this car I found this car at an auction for $2000, reason 4 price is that the transmission was bad, i could not go past 45mph when i got the car, but 3 days later me and some friends put a brand new AODE transmission in it, got the transmission for 300 due to the fact the guy i bought it from was dating my Aunt LOL!! Now common sense told me since it was from the auction i knew there would be more than that trans prob.. I have had new intake gaskets and injectors put on. I got a brand new battery and alternator but my car still wouldnt keep a charge, so come to find out my pigtail was broke (wire that plugs in the back of the alternator for those who didnt know that) now my car keeps a charge and i can drive it at night. I have also put new brake pads and rotors on to. I got the windows tinted as you can see in the pic. My plan with this car is to keep it completly stock performance wise, as far as looks go im going to put 18inch black chrome FR500's on it, 295 rear tire, 265 front tire, also i am going to black the headlights out, when i am done the car will be totally stelthed out. I'm keeping the car stock cause i believe it is worth more that way, it is all stock under the hood that includes the stock intake LOL we all know that is the first thing to go in the car. With all I have done to the car i am really proud of it now. Just to see how far it has come from that $2000 car i found at the auction how much do you think it is worth with and without the FR500's, by the way my interior still looks brand new, interior gets the most compliments.

modding a car doesnt decrease its value... it just doesnt help it much, because it's to the seller's taste, not the buyers.

but there are tons of people willing to buy a car thats modded and spend the extra cash, just so they wont have to later on.

your cars worth about 3500 now, with the fr500's and a great detail job, you could pull 4500 out of it (i wouldnt buy it for that much, but some people will.)

No sir it would not add 1000 dollars to the value of the car. You can't add on to the price of the bluebook value just because you put a set of fr500s and new tires doesnt up the value on the car. Your mileage is still the same. Always remember no matter what you put in the car youll never get it back out. Exceptions:Classic retro cars. I bought my car for 6k and plan on keeping it because i know that I will never get back the time and money spent on the car (not to mention the memories)

to you and me, no.

but to the average teen looking at mustangs is going to dryhump it, and would be willing to pay that extra grand because it looks cooler then the other mustangs... book value means nothing to mustangs... the market value is much higher, and always will be.

when selling a car with aftermarket wheels you wont usually get $1000 extra but when I sold my last car and the guy offered me $1000 less than I was asking, I told him he could have it for $1000 less with the stock wheels instead of the 18's...

yeah, book on my gt is 4700, you wont find one for that, and around here, cobra clones (like how im doing it.) are going for as much as 12k... book doesnt mean anything... espeacialy for mustangs, and since his is a clean car, some people are willing to shell out the extra money.

i didnt say it was worth 4500 (in fact i said, i wouldnt pay that much.) but im more then certain he could get 4500 for it.
