I just recently bought a '96 GT with a ton of add-ons. (BBK cai, Professional Products 65 mm throttle body, Kooks long tube headers with o/r x-pipe w/ Incinirator single chamber mufflers, Comp 30 hp cams, MSD DIS 6 ignition control w/ tach adapters, BBk underdrive pulleys, and car was tuned by amazon tuning solutions(tuner included). Car is lowered 2" with Nuespeed racing springs and has BBk camber plates installed. Car has black leather interior with ...aluminum accents. Has cobra white face gauges. It has a Kenwood reciever w/ 2 12"Kenwood subs w/ 1500 watt Hyonotic amp. The car has a cobra body kit w/ a 4" cowl hood, Billet grilles, Raxiom chrome projector headlights, Raxiom sequential taillights, 17" lightning replica wheels w/ Nexen staggered tires ) Just in case any is needed. While driving today the car had been running fine. Got to a stop light, the engine began to roughly idle the back fire on accelaration, and really running like shit. I had a friend who suggested it could be the o2 sensor but after reading a few posts I am unsure and was looking for a few opinions on what it could be, I got codes for it running lean and a misfire in Cyl 6. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I believe they are the cheaper of Comp Cams that give you only 30 hp. I am just getting into the real Mustang life. I have owned a few but never one built like this. Alot of new terms to learn. LOL

All comp cams cost the same. There really isnt a guarenteed 30hp set. Its all in the setup/tune.

It sounds like a fuel/spark issue. So, check fuel pressure. If fuel is there. Then look at spark. Check the plugs/wires/coil packs/ and the msd box. The msd box has 0 point being on the car. Like i said earlier i highly suggest taking it off. They are known for problems on cars and msd boxs quality seems to have dropped.

I will def be taking out the msd. It isnt even hooked up anyway. The problem was a bad plug wire but not on the one i was getting a code for. Flooded with gas basically. And also a vacuum leak at the back of the intake. All is well now and running even better than before.
