Hi everybody, I recently installed new carpeting and I made some cuts in the rear before the carpet was 100% set. Now my original cuts in the rear are too far past the plastic hold down and I don't know how to secure it now.

I don't know if that means that you cut portions of it out or just make a couple of slits but they make strips that go on the bottom of the carpet that work like a tape to hold it together.

The "tape" has glue on the topside but not the bottom side. A carpet layer uses a hot iron beneath the twp pieces of carpet. He slides it along the "tape" that has glue on the opposing sides. The iron melts the glue and each edge of the two carpet parts are pressed down into the glue. When glue sets, you should have a hard time seeing the patched area. This is how it was done 50 years ago! Hope this helps you.
