Ok this is getting annoying this fuse keeps blowing and it operates my turn signals, fog lights. Last night i put in a new turn signal switch and that is not the case. I just came from the garage put a new fuse in and was focusing at what point it blew, well it blew as soon as i put the car in reverse. Has anyone ever had this happen or could lead me in a direction to what it could be? What happens when a clockspring goes bad?

Especially check the harness at the rear light, I had a similar problem with my daughters car that turned out to be a loose wire that was grounding out

Just got back in from checking a few things. Pulled out the tail lights checked for any damaged wires everything looked good unpluged the backup switch and and am not blowing fuses. So my question is could the backup switch it self have a short in it? Thanks

well there is definitely a short to ground in the system somewhere, if the fuse didn't blow with the backup switch out it is most likely that switch. If you have a multi-meter you could ohm it out and see if it is.

try pulling out one of the lights at a time and see if it still does it. The switch, it could be shorted but it might also be a bulb or something. If it does it with both bulbs out check the wires going to them for continuity to ground and trace the wires.

If you can squeeze up under the tranny look around there too. the reverse switch is located there, just follow your wiring.

This happened to me once- It was the cluster of wires behind the clutch pedal laying on the floor board.
I would replace the fuse and test everything to be OK, drive one block and it would blow again. When I pushed on the clutch pedal, the arm was pinching the wires on the upper floor board.

I checked all the wires by the clutch everything looks good. This is what i did, put on all accessories fog lights, headlights, rear defrost, turn signals and so on pushed in just the clutch several times to see if the fuse blew and nothing, then i held in the clutch and went through each gear 1,2,3,4,5, as soon as i started to put it into reverse it blew. So anyways i unplugged the backup switch and it is not blowing fuses so it is still unplugged because i have turn signals now. I will get this fixed properly over winter i can now drive the car and not be worried about having turn signals

Its called the BOO switch or something like that and its what turns on the reverse lights. Its located like was stated above down by the pedals and what happens is the pedal arms wear thru the insulation enough to ground it out and it blows the fuse. You dont need anything but enough electrical tape to blocks the arms from contacting it anymore and maybe see if he has fallen down and into the way of the pedal. The problem is getting your hands in there to put the tape on.

Had the same issue but my case is a little different.. Started with everytime i would pit the brakes and clutch down i would blow the same fuse thought it was just reverse but realised holding the brake down each time was the issue..
1. there are sets of wires that wil run by the drivers seat up to the dash check there for any damage (literally take them and make sure they are flexable)
2. there is a set of wires that is located under the dash near the pedals check all of those. With the stock setup in my cobra after 95k you could look above the mounting rod for the pedals theres a thick bunch of wires wrapped together and see that the other side of them has a little wear not a bunch but enough to were the copper was showing.
3. My setup was fine and dandy untill i hooked up a adjustable clutch linkage. The metal of the steeda quad was touching the wires so it wouldnt be right away but in certain positions would blow the fuse. The factory one is plastic so it wouldnt cause a issue.
4. Do you have any aftermarket alarm system?
5. If all these are still ok then i would go directly under the car and unplug the reverse switch on the tranny and hook up your voltmeter check what you get.
6. <---- should be actually number 1 but get a wiring diagram out and follow the circut
