Hey folks. I need some advice on a Cobra R hood I'm planning on picking up today. Found someone on Craigslist about 1 1/2 hours from me who was selling a fiberglass Cobra R hood for $200. No pictures. I emailed him asking if he had pictures and if he knew the manufacturer. He said he didn't know the manufacturer and asked for my cell number to talk to me about it. He called me and apparently the hood was on the car when he bought it. Apparently its actually his girlfriend's car and she wants to get rid of the hood because she doesn't want any high performance appearance modifications. He told me that he was willing to lower the price because there's a small crack in the front end. Then he asked what I was doing with my hood. I told him that I'd be okay with offering something like my hood and 70 bucks for his... I think I should have gone lower, but thought that sounded reasonable. He wants to make the trade today after 5pm and said he'd call again around then to see if I was still interested.
What do you guys think? Was I too rash? Should I skip on making the trip for a hood with a "small" crack and no pictures?
