Need some ideas

I picked up a 1997 V6 5 speed for $400 dollars this weekend. The car has been sitting for some time and the alternator and AC are removed so I'm not sure if it is running or if it does how well as it was apparently wired up for nitrous at some point. Body is in good shape overall some small random dings and needs paint. My 95 runs pretty good has a few small problems, body is pretty good but needs paint. I've also got a 1995 GT automatic that has body damage, transmission problems, and rearend issues but the engine and interior are in good shape. What I'm trying to decide is the best way to turn 3 ok cars into 2 good ones. I'm thinking of taking the motor out of the 97 and dropping the motor from the 95 V6 into it. That gives me the 97 motor to try my hand at rebuilding and porting and polishing. I could then pull the motor out of the GT and drop it into the other 95. Should I try this or try some other route?

Well, I would think working on each seperately would be alot more of an economic route. Changing a V6 to a V8 swap is very expensive. I just looked at it. The '97 V6 is a singleport, that engine has a ways to go and alot of money to get it back up to respectable HP. It's got 125HP to start off with. I have a '97 that I know top to bottom and if you have any questions, I would gladly try to help.

Those ideas were a little over the top, but it helps me to throw stuff out there like that as it lets me weed out good and bad ideas. I've been doing some looking into the 97 and I really think I want to keep it . It's mostly Aztec Gold which you really don't see everyday. I've got a buddy coming over to help me try and get it started this weekend and as long as it starts, runs, and drives good then I'll work on getting everything else with it straightened out on it. I have started gathering parts for it already, picked up from Craigslist an MGW shifter handle with Composite Race Knob, and then found a guy that had pulled the stock catback off his 2003 Mach 1 so I grabbed that to put on.

Sounds good. I've thrown everything possible at mine while still being naturally aspirated and have peaked at 152HP & 222 Torque. I love my MGW shifter, I'm sure you will too. The FRPP gears & the dyno tunes are what gets it somewhat moving a bit quicker along with all the bolt-ons and the exhaust I created. Aztec Gold is a beautiful rare color for sure. Right now I am in search of a SSM Stage3 Power Pack, followed by a blower.
