ok well im planning on purchasing a turbo kit for my 95 5.0... im trying to sell my bike for the funds so it may be a while, but i am needing a little info... im planning on making around 500 hp to the wheels, which means about 550-570 flywheel hp... also keep in mind this car will be dyno tuned once completed...

first off is about fuel delivery... i plan to buy 42# injectors which i understand should be able to supply plenty of fuel. now i currently have a 255 lph fp in tank. will that be enough to supply the necessary amount of fuel, or should i add an additional external pump. i have heard about people using something like a bbk 255 external pump along with a 255 in tank pump...

next off relates to the mass air. i am on a tight budget and was looking at getting a lightning mass air. i understand that they are good for about 450 hp... is this true and if so what would be a good alternative meter to use??? oh and i will be using it as a blow through...

next is about the bov. what brands are a good bang for the buck??? i have heard great things about hks but i have no experience with them.. all opinions are welcome...

i think thats about it for now...

thanks in advance!!!

First of all, if you are on a tight budget, don't build a turbo car. Whatever you might think a turbo car will cost you, multiply that by 2. It is not as easy as turbo kit and fuel. At that power you need head studs, head gaskets and all other gaskets, better transmission, rear end, frame ties, msd ingition, if you are getting blow by you need to rebuild the shortblock and many other miscelanious things. As far as injectors and maf there are places that sell them both calibrated, or just look for a maf calibrated for 42lb injectors. Good luck.

i have the engine and drive train covered.. the shortblock has about 6k on it, felpro head gaskets, arp hardware throughout the entire engine, etc... as for the trans, it has a t-56 with a few upgrades, aluminum driveshaft, moser axles, ffrp 3.73 gears... at this point the engine is ready just gonna add the power adder and get it re-tuned...

when i say a tight budget, i mean i dont want to buy a $600 mass air when i can get away with a $100 mass air, and things like that... i plan to buy a boost brothers turbo kit which is only about a grand... the only bad parts of that kit is the turbo, so ill run it till it quits or i get some more money together, then ill buy a better turbo... i know there are a few guys on here running this kit and they seem to be having pretty good luck with it, and also my tuner has installed many of those kits and he says that for the money, they are excellent kits... so we shall see...

i just need to know about fuel delivery as to whether i need to make any changes to my current setup and just a little fyi info...

thanks

any quality kit for your mustang is going to cost around 3 ish. thats usually just piping, fmic, turbo, fpr, and little odds and ends.

i personally am against running dual fuel pumps because if one burns out, youll hae enough fuel to run idle, but then will lean out and possibly blow up at full throttle. im going to run a bosch single fuel pump. its spendy, but not nearly as spendy as my motor.
im running 80lb/hour injectors. i hate re buying stuff cuz theyve reached their limit.
i run a tial q blow off valve. quality, and i love the sound. ive had problems with hks bov's leaking.

dont forget you have to run a wideband and a way to tune. which is where it really gets spendy. maotes quartehorse, anderson ford pms, and aem are ones ive heard good things about. fabricating an exhaust and downpipes will be spendy too. the kit doesnt come with downpipes.

hope your bike is expensive buddy. a fully functional turbo mustang is not the cheapest route for boost.

not really.. im looking at the boost brothers turbo kit which is about 1300 or less, then about 500-600 for injectors and mass air, then a tune. the car has already been dyno tuned so i already have an sct chip so about 350 ish to get it re-done and i have pretty much everything else to complete it... i figure less then 3 grand and it will be done... naturally the cheap ebay special turbo that comes with the kit wont last long, but when it goes out, then ill worry about buying a better turbo....

42s will be almost at their limit at 500rwhp, go with 50-55s.

you will need another pump, the 255 and a pusher inline style will work fine.
