ok guys, no problems this time just want some fellow sn95 opinions.
a guy here in town is selling a set of PI heads for around 300. I dont
know yet if they are windsor or romeo heads but thats not the question.
I know the swap raises c/r and i dont know much about f/i but ive heard
that the blowers arent to crazy for the higher c/r(its a possiblity ill go f/i
sometime in the future). I have 2 choices here, i could buy these heads
and put them on with a head install set(i already have a PI intake on
the car) and work from there, OR i can find a set of npi heads and send
them to be P/P'd. If these heads this guy is selling are romeo's
i might go with it and just stay N/A(maybe nitrous on down the road).

so...
1st. Is this a decent deal on a set of PI's??
2nd. Is the swap worth the money??
3rd. Will i have to get the car tuned right away if i do the swap??

oh, and 4th. Is there any performance difference between the romeo and the
windsor

im really thinkin i might jump on this deal cause it sounds pretty good.
of course i need to go over the heads real good before i make the deal.
anything i should watch out for??

its a pretty good deal. Is he selling the cams with the heads? if they are windsor they require a little more stuff but not that much. I got a set i'm trying to sell for 350 but thats with the cams. I would deffinitly go with the pi heads over the npi P&Ped... but thats just me. Anyway, it isn't the best but you could do with the pi swap with 8 psi or so... just get a good tune.

yea thats true, one piece of advice... make sure the flat part is flat ok... and make him take the cams out so you can check the journals... the part of the heads the cams sit on... if they are f'ed up really bad then don't buy them... my heads had a little bit of a score on one of the journals but thank god it wasn't that bad... a little super light sand paper action and now they are flat as a babies but :)

I did the PI head swap with P&P PI Windsor heads and you don't need a new front cover, All you need is the valve covers (which you just need to look around for. I scored a set on modular depot for 50 bucks shipped) and around $55 worth of misc bolts and such because the holes on the the windsor heads are bigger. You also got to take into consideration that you need more then just the head change kit. There is about 140 dollars worth of gaskets and such that you need to get as well, for example cam gear and crank bolts are TTY so your old bolts will be junk. (That is probably going to be cheaper for you though since you have the pi intake already) Also I would highly recommend getting a Lokar flexible dipstick tube. That was the greatest 45 dollars I ever spent. I will tell you this, I think the swap was deffinately worth the money, I am super happy with it and highly recommend doing the swap. just make sure everything is good on the heads and you should be good
