Hi all, new guy that would love your input. I have a 94 GT with 5spd the motor is stock the car has been lowered with MM stuff (camber plates, sway bar etc.) I know I need to go for one of their grip box set ups to really complete the suspension and need to up the brakes but my question is about the motor and all of the way's one can go.

My goals are to have a very fast GT but not insane (streetable although it's not my daily driver and I can go a bit nuts) but I would definitely like to show the ass end to a Z06... I am not really into the whole drag race seen but really like blasting down a winding road...

Within reason money is not a huge issue I don't want to throw it away and am into value for the buck but what would you do?

Do I get a better 302 block and stroke that out to 331/347 with some sort of forced induction?

Do I swap in a built/stroked 351 and take it out to 408/427 with forced induction? I had a 69 Mach 1 so I love the sound of this idea but is it worth the effort.

Do I swap in a 4.6 4v mod motor/ Is this easy to do with computers and wiring etc??? And go off on that?

I love the fuel injection aspect vs. carbs. I live in Los Angeles and would like to not have issues with registration etc.

It look like our cars are around 3,200 lbs not that much more than a Z06 so to show them the ass end and have a comfort level am I looking at 575 to 600 HP??? And at what point does the HP in our cars get to where it just simply won't hook up?

Would love to hear you input. Thanks Jeff.

fastgtfairlane, simply turbo the 302? I have done some research into the turbo game and have heard about some of the horror stories about companies ripping people off and going BK etc. It looks like some of the companies like STS are focused on the newer Mustangs for market reasons I understand this but who would you recommend I look into? Thanks Jeff.

if money is not too much of an issue, and you want to beat an $80k corvette, then stroke a 351w and put a nice (hpperformance) turbo set-up on that, with a t56 and some nice gears, you should be showing a z06 whats what. that, of course, is pretty expensive to do. i'll be doing my 351 swap this summer

going turbo or supercharging will be one of the only options to outrun a new z06 vette and still be completely streetable. what kind of
turbo kit you want can be determined how much money you wanna spend. while your at it i would would step up blocks to a mexican or an R block atleast. if fundage allows it, step up to a boss block. theres a website devoted to turbo mustangs i believe it is called turbomustangs.com i like turbos better than supercharging because turbos do not use engine power to make power like the supercharger does and also the turbo doesnt put a strain on the crank. however both can make big power with a strong engine and a good tune.
