Guy swore car was stock when he brought it to my house because i couldnt drive (twisted ankle) so he left and when my ankle got better i learned that on idle it sounds cammed. just a mild cam. maybe an e cam or something around there, but who really knows? anyways i replaced the air filter with a k&n filter and im having trouble keeping it on. as soon as it starts up it turns off. i have to keep my foot in the gas a little bit so it doesnt die out. any help please?

sounds like when I accidently put my maf on backwards. Car would start, almost make a full turn after and then die just as quickly....

Vac leak will make "cam sound" did it stay on before you change the filter?

car would start but id have to keep my foot in the gas a little for it to actually stay on and idle. and it would keep trying to turn off like that until it warmed up. then it would idle fine

Have you tried priming the fuel pump, letting it engage for a second before starting the car

i did and it seems like its dead not of the gauges move and if they do its barely anything. but i tried cranking it and it starts for a half second stutters and dies....now that im thinking of it....maybe its not getting the right fuel...clogged fuel filter???
