Just ordered a Walbro GSS342 255LPH fuel pump and shouldve just bought the whole assembly itself and I dont feel like returning it but it says when buying the pump only you can modify the basket to make the pump fit and prevent starvation. What do I do in the basket to do these? Anyone else have the same experience?

sounds like you got work cut out for you
are you trying to restore the car back to shape
and is it something that you know is a keeper
some of these cars get so neglected that it runs into a lot of cash
if it gets to far out of hand before you dump money into it look around find a better body and transfer to make one good car

i have been doing this forever and just know that sometimes the grass could be greener
just do some math take your time

I am trying to restore the car. I bought it back on 2022 when I was still in high school and it used to be so nice, paint was nice and everything. Im in the rust belt so I have rust here and there on the car but I was in high school and wanted the car for looks more so then got super into it. I have plans to make at least 500-600whp and have a nice little weekend race/cruiser. Its my fault the car it got into the shape its in now and I want to get it back to how it was. Ive already put a lot of time and money in it, doing a motor swap, trans swap, doing the exhaust with my buddy who is a tig welder, redoing the suspension. This car is the reason I know anything about how to work on a car. Ive always done the work on this thing myself and honestly have had a fair share of mechanical and electrical so I know this car like the back of my hand thanks to this forum honestly

well im thinking if you can pick up a shell not in your area
it would be well worth having that one as a donner car parts car

keep in mind you do that you look it over from top to bottom
if manageable to work on get it these cars are going up and becoming classic
make it your own
just something to think about
