Got my new head unit installed this afternoon. It's a Kenwood KDC BT60U (not sure if they're available in the States - I'm in the UK). I've also managed to get it to run through the Mach 460 amp by connecting the speaker cables from the car to the unit using phono connectors.
Head unit has bluetooth and USB and Aux connectors in the back. Used some Clarion leads to run these out to a blanking panel where the old single CD player was.
Works straight off with my iPod touch too.

Also added a pony to fill the blank space...

Pretty happy with the way it looks. Not had much chance to play with it since it was installed but first impressions are that it sounds pretty nice too.

I love clean headunits and Kenwood always does a good job of looking clean. Love the looks of that radio. Looks nice.

doesn't look too bad. IF you want a custom decal for that spot let me know.

is the bass responce a little weaker then before? I find adding a line driver to boost the signal a little often helps in the bass area

Is the text green or white on the HU?
It's sort of blue/green at the moment but it is variable colour - I just changed it to that to match the rest of the dash.

Not that I've noticed. I don't like too much bass anyway. The mid and higher ranges are way clearer than the old Ford unit though.

well lucky you. i put my alpine in last week and it sounds like shiot. i did the bypass for the highs using the black plug i unpluged from the car and tried to use my RCA out to run the low end and i got next to nothing even with 4v out the unit puts and with everything cranked it was barely audible. wonder what im doing wrong

well i was just temporarily getting something in there so i could use my ipod and i couldn't stand the look of the factory unit any longer. I have everything to replace the factory stuff with but just being lazy. figured i could get it to sound a little decent but not happening.

the problem is that the factory amps like a really high output, closer to 8 v and now you are running the 2.5s full range and trying to get too much bass out of them since the subs are not performing. Get a little box called a line driver and add some 1000 microfarad caps to the tweeters to take the bass out and you will be surpised how good it will sound.
