Those heads will work fine with alot of off the shelf cams. if your wanting lots of power your not buying these anyway.

I'd be VERY surprised if they did not cater to the roller market. They even mention it in the sub notes.

Wat???

A roller would work absolutely fine with those heads.

My old 92 LX had GT40 heads with TFS springs designed for Ford Cast Iron heads and .542 was the highest you can go with those springs without valve float.

Like 94 DropTop said....550 is more than enough for most off the shelf cams.

EDIT: The heads have a 1.25" diameter valve spring with 3/8" screw in studs.

No problem with Rollers.

Alright Alright. Just making sure nobody buys these and then has coil bind because the springs. I was just stating what the Edelbrock site says and knowledge from my dad building motors in the past but he always built solid roller motors. If they work, they work but I am just trying to be helpful and then 3 people jump on me. Take it easy guys. Kind of off topic but here are the Patriot Performance head specs as a reference - .550" hydraulic roller springs, steel retainers, 3/8" studs, guide plates, and viton seals.

Let me know if you guys find out anything else about these heads. If these heads work I would be using a F cam since they are good for boost.

I dont want to hate on the letter cams and clog the thread (owell its my thread anyway) but there are better options for boost than a letter cam. It probibly just how it is written. Like kick down cable and detent cable, different name same part.

Just got off the phone with Edelbrock an hour ago and the seat pressure is 125 and open is 325, but the guy is going to call me back to verify that the info is right. My dad called from work 30 minutes earlier than me and got the same specs, I guess we had the same idea. lol All systems are go and I am ordering these today.

Should be a good set of heads. I'm not trying to jump on anyone as much as I am just wanting to have clean clear information posted on the forum that folks will understand.

I just got the 1.90/1.60 so I don't have to notch the pistons. My tracking # says that they are on FedEx vehicle for delivery as of 7:06am this morning. :headbang:

okay here's the question that us non technical, inexperienced Stang guy's are too scared to ask! so I will!!! and please keep it simple, dont confuse me with terms such as an e cam is needed that provides lift and duration blah, blah, blah... I want to know what addtl parts are neccesary if any to install these in a stock 5.0l

can these be bolted on a stock engine?

if not...

what is needed to be able to install these in a stock engine?

Yes but you have to get rid of all of the EGR stuff.

since when? the SN-95 egr system is completely independent from the heads.
You would need to eliminate the smog pump. because it wouldnt be able to pump into the heads
