Hello folks. I just purchased my first EFI 5.0 based car. Looking forward to learning more about the performance aspect of these engines. I'm currently dropping a CHP 347 into the car with some go fast goodies.
The car currently has a Dart blocked 331. It's a stock stroke, long rod, big bore (4.125"). With the 11:1 cr and Anderson N-71 cam; it's not very street friendly. It's an auto car with a PI converter that stalls at 4500. Gears are 4.10's. I'm swapping in the 347 and having a custom cam ground by Ed Curtis. The Edelbrock Performer RPM upper and lower are Stage lll ported by Panhandle Performance. I'm running a BBK 75mm TB and a Lightning MAF. Injectors are 30lb units. Heads are TFS 170 extensively ported by Duffee with combustion chamber work by Mustang Mike. The 347 will be around 10.8cr with a nice tight quench. Headers are 1-3/4" MAC shorties tied into an offroad H pipe and 2.5" dual exhaust. The cat back is an older Edelbrock unit with their mufflers. I really don't care for the sound nor the drone. My plans are to have a hot street car that I can also take to shows or go for a nice cruise. I don't intend on racing but you know how that goes.
Thanks for the compliments and welcomes. The car has 61k original miles and the paint is original. The previous owner added the Saleen wing and Fiber Trends Cobra R hood just before I bought it. I knew I wanted something clean as the wife and I like going to car shows. I couldn't believe it when I saw this car. Lust at first sight? lol! I'm in Glendale, AZ.
