iPhones aren't bad, the market is definitely there for anything you want to get. Extremely easy to use, and consistant with the past versions so it looks/feels the same. There's a lot to be said about that in the world non-tech people. Just about every car audio system is now iPhone/Pod compliant and you can get an app for just about anything. And, with bling cases, it becomes a fashion accessory for every kid and woman in the nation. Brilliant marketing.

My Wife has a iPhone 4 for Verizon, but we're shelling out like $100/month for her phone. When I got my 2 oldest phones last year, I went with Virgin Mobile month to month. Paid $49 for a Android phone and pay $35/month for unlimited text/data and 300 minutes. When the Wife's contract is over in a couple of months I'm buying her a Virgin Mobile iPhone with the same plan as my girls have. Verizon monthly prices are ridiculous! They get you with the free/cheap phone, but then they rip you off for 2 years, every month.

I have a Droid RAZR, I haven't done Tapatalk, I'll have to try it out. But essential apps are Google Maps/Navigation with traffic(awesome! but IIRC not for the iPhone), skype, a level (I use it to check/do my alignment), Trackmaster, accelerometer Dyno, Mobile Hotspot (you may need to pay for this), Fecebook widget, data useage widget, Quickoffice, Ultrachron (stopwatch), and Netflix. I'm not much of a gamer, but have Angrybirds and Cut the Rope.

Then obviously setup email, I also got a notification app so I can seperate my ring/alert tones for different texts. This was mainly for a work pager.

Now Ron, you have a 4 right. So it's not 4g capable. That's the biggest reason I didn't go iPhone. The 4g is awesome when you can have a hotspot for your laptop, be talking on the phone, and still have lightning fast internet.

one thing id like to add about the iphone is how smooth the OS runs..i have every app open on mine (i just never close them out) and theres never even a hint of lagginess when flipping thru screens/switching apps/seriously anything.......you know how everything looks so smooth when they show a phone on TV? thats how nicely the iphone runs

this is also coming from a guy thats had 3G..2 3GS's..4S..2 DROID X2's..DROID RAZR..GALAXY NEXUS.....all of which were the "latest and greatest" when i had them

I had the gayPhone (I mean... iPhone) 4 and hated it. When I first got it I was like sweet I've got a good phone finally! Then a few months after owning it the screen cracked from being in my pocket while also in a case, then I took the case of to clean it and dropped it and destroyed the entired back, then the home button stopped working... Then I got my Galaxy Note 2 and couldn't be happier. I will probably never own another iPhone. I liked the simplicity compared to the Android but overall Android phones (timeframe specific, like iPhone 5 and GS3 and GN2) are lightyears ahead of the iPhone and that has been proven time and time again. If you don't hardly use it you'll be happy with it. I liked the iTunes and iPod being on it. Other than that I don't miss it a bit lol

Sounds like you are just hard on your phone. I got my 3GS in March of 2011 and haven't had a single problem with it. In fact, after almost two years of pretty hard use, the home button is just finally starting to go.

Put a good case on it, take reasonably good care of it and an iPhone should give you plenty of good use.

Once the screen cracks on the iPhone don't touch it. It will make you bleed to death. Lol

Don't trust apple maps either. It will guide you into a body of water or off a cliff.

If you put good case on your iPhone, it should be fine. I've dropped mine probably 50 times and nothing ever happened to it.

Very hard. Won't lie about that. But all of my other phones held up fine the iphone was the first one to break. I had an Otterbox on it lol. My Note 2 has already been through hell and it's still going strong not even a scratch on the screen. My girlfriend bought me some sweet case for it so everything but the screen is protected. So while your point is 100% valid I'm just saying that durability wise my iPhone was by far the worst.

Sorry Ron! Lol

Yeah I have the 4s so no 4g I loved it on my bionic but so far the phone runs so fast and smooth that the 3G honestly runs as fast as my 4g bionic. I also got a life proof on eBay for $40 shipped. It's not a knock off. Already tested it with the little one as soon as I got it lol let her play with it in the bath. And not a single problem. I would deff invest in a lifeproof case of you want to protect your phone. She thows it and spills stuff on it and plays with it in the shower and not one single problem deff worth the money.

Love how everyone in my house is paranoid of breaking or scratching their Iphones, I bought a Samsung Rugby smart for myself, Android smartphone and MIL spec so dust and impacts are nothing to this phone, can even be submerged for 30 mins
