Today seemed like a good day to wash the car and drive it up to the hills, to take some pictures. Anyway, here they are.

Your avatar reminds me of the first time I drove into turn 6 at Riverside in an '84 GT in the old Playboy 6 hour enduro...
down shifted onto 3 rd, full lock, all 4 wheels locked up. and finally hearing myself in my helmet..."Please turn, please turn"...

You can't wipe the sweat off your brow with a helmet on!!

obviously it finally did, but it was never (NEVER!) comfortable.
Fastest down the back stretch, 126 mph, finished 26th. Same result at Firebird the next weekend...

whats that air dam/ black thing underneath?
Dunno if mines too low for it, I take it that it helps channel air to the engine right?

It's a trimmed 4th gen Fbody airdam. I got it from a junk yard for like 10 dollars, cut off the sides to make it fit under the car. It's at least twice the size of a stock airdam, and it's also flexible, so it does not get easily damaged or wiped off like a stock one. It helped a little with cooling at Willow Springs.

I do want to get Cobra R hood eventually. The whole reason why I bought a white GT in the first place was that I wanted to do a Cobra R replica. No one asks if it's a Cobra R though. I think GT badges on the side, and MUSTANG GT text across the rear bumper are pretty much a dead giveaway.

There are so many things I'd have to do to get the car to look like Cobra R, it's not even funny. I'd have to eliminate the fog lamps, get the hood, change the badges on the side to cobra badges, but leave the grill pony, because that's what Cobra R had, get a Cobra trunk lid with the third brake light located in the crab claw spoiler rather than the deck lid, get a Fuel Safe fuel cell which came on 95 Cobra R, change the interior color to tan, and get white face gauges, just to name a few. And let's not forget the AC and Radio Delete, and the best part, the 351W motor.
