Now, another question about the mid pipe. If I gut the cats on the stock midpipe and run it would I benefit by getting an aftermarket midpipe, or will it be about the same as a gutted stock one? Just trying to keep this a really cheap project

Running a catless mid pipe WILL NOT cause a CEL on a 94/95 5.0. The o2 sensors are before the cats therefore the engine doesn't know what's going on after the o2 sensors.

then why does my cel go on and off now that i have my cats gutted? btw i have a mac full system.

what are the codes?
I've ran an O/R H and an H with the cats gutted too. No CEL. ever.
Now I have a bassani catted X on my car cause I have to get e checked every year and I got tired of swapping out the mid pipe twice a year. and the cats need to be there for the visual.

the codes are stored for a certain amount of time. the light doesn't need to be on the it to be there..
How old are the sensors?. My guess the sensors went bad when you disturbed them.
The 5.0's don't need the mil eliminaters cause the cats are after the sensors. the 96 and later cars have 4 sensors. So the ones after the cats need the eliminaters if you put in an O/R pipe.

I know its not much but I picked it up cheap. Its go 100,000 miles. 5.0 5 speed. power everything, tan leather interior in ok shape. I drove it about 45min home and it did just fine. Seems to have decent power, but when I get on it much has a very slight rattle. Hoping its nothing major. Needs an oil change really bad, maybe that'll help it some. I found a set of the factory gt wheels like what it has on the passenger side for $200 with nice tires, and I picked up a nice black hood for $100 the other day. Planning to get this thing looking nice again as cheaply as possible. Once I round up all the parts Ill get them on and repaint the whole car. I do paint and body work so I wont have much time in it.

Ive always like mustangs since I was little when My uncle drove a 65, and my aunt had an 83 with a 5.0. And in late 93 when the "new" body style came out I was in love! haha. Granted I was only in first grade but I wanted one so bad. Later on I bought a wrecked '97 fixed and sold it, bought a wrecked '01 fixed, drove it and traded it in, bought an '05 gt and did several mods to it to run mid 12's, and then traded it for a 2008 mustang gt bullitt. It wasnt too practical to daily drive the bullitt so it got traded for an 09 f150. I was pretty excited when I found this car cheap!
