HiTech Stage 2 Cams PI Swap

Hopefully my cars not fucked..its only got 250 or less miles after the PI swap..maybe just needs time to adjust to the PI parts?

Hitech told me that the motor will be a bit noisier with the camshafts..I need an oil change too..but anyway..

Just got off phone with Bart from hitech..

He says theres no such thing as too much clearance. Thats not an issue here.
He says the valvetrain will naturally be noisy, and if I were to have any issues with the car and I have aprox 300 miles on it, I would have seen them by now..(PTV..etc)

Im going to change the oil tonight, see if it makes any difference.

If this is 'effed, I will be selling my car.

Personally I think its fine. I've heard some cammed cars sound like that before. But change your oil, maybe pull the valve covers again and check. But I agree with Hitech, especially if you had any PTV clearance issues you would definitely really know it by now. Other than the noise from the valvetrain your car sounds very healthy, just go get it tuned and see what happens.... then sell it lol. J/P

Well, I shall change the oil tonight..
If it were to be PTV issues, I would have bent a valve by now..the car has ran quite a bit. Maybe its low on oil? I dont have my dipstick tube in yet, supposed to be coming in soon..but I put 6 quarts in..granted it was leaking a little on the pass. side valve cover..

What else can be done? Pull a plug? look down into it?

it sounds like something is slapping valve cover.. i know that sounds odd but still. are you 100% sure that you torqued your cam caps down and everything?

Yeah pretty positive those are torqued down..what do I do? Pull valve cover and check? Its only noticeable on drivers side really..this wouldn't be a result of low oil? Like I said I really don't see it being PTV

Are the head gaskets on the modulars "side specific"? I'm wondering if the heads are oil starved. Seemed like there was something I read in the PI swap writ-ups. Kinda noisy to me.
