I finally got around to night shading my tails along with rear bumper inserts and I think it turned out very well.  It's not as dark as I wanted it, but I only had time for 1 coat & clear.

The hood is staying black, the original color hood looks ghey on it. Plus it "accents" all other black pieces on the car.

Sorry but the black hood just makes it look unfinished.

The trunk looks sick though.

You should do from the sail panels up in black. Not like a full two tone. Then the hood would go good with that combo I think.

Can you 'shop that? I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about. I'd like to do the whole upper part of the body line black.

I don't have PS on my computer but. Like paint just the roof, the sail pannels "hold the back window in" I'll get a picture of one so you can see.

Did you spray any clearcoat on those? I agree they look great with the bumper.

I did, but only 1 coat because it was turning them kinda foggy instead of clear. I see what you mean by jams now.

go darker on the tails!

although some people do use a clear coat to add a shine to them, i found, it worked much nicer to not use a clear coat, and just wet sand and buff them if you want them to shine.

i clear coated mine, and they came out all hazy, and it left a noticeable white film on them. i had to sand them down completely and start all over, reapplying the tint.

to put in perspective how dark i did mine, i used over a can and a half on my tail lights. theyre about as dark as you can get with the stock red lenses, and when buffed out, they shine like glass, and they restrict little to no light from shining through.

We did my buddies and his tails took the rest of the can and there was roughly 8/10ths of a can left too. His are darkkkkk. When you mean buff, do you mean with a high speed buffer or orbital buffer? Since my buddy used most of my can, he bought me another yesterday. I do plan to darken them more since it ran in a very small spot.
