noisy steering

My front end's occasional creaks have degraded into a crazy groan any time you turn the steering wheel. Sounds pretty bad...

I'm assuming either one or both of the tie rod ends or the steering rack itself is shot. Might as well replace everything at once, I guess.

Anyone here install a Flaming River Power Steering Rack? It reduces the steering wheel travel to 2.5 turns stock-to-stock... Is that a bad idea for a street car?

Haha, my bad. The stock steering rack is already 15:1 (2.25 turns) so the flaming river rack isn't changing the ratio... Must have had a brain fart this morning.

Anyone replace their steering rack before?

You have the infamous creaky ball joints that need to be replaced. Happened to me a long time ago and drove me crazy.
