My car is literally splitting in half! I tore out the carpet, to put in fresh, new, black carpet... and I find the floorpan is cracking on the drivers side. previous owner was a fatty, so I guess I can blame it on him. :angry7:

Pics will come later, although I don't know what to do about this... :sad5: :sad5: :sad5:

That's what i'm thinking... I have to get a better look at it though, the crack is pretty much like the grand canyon.

I swear this is like henry ford's last stand, and he's currently shoving a fork up my ass.

I don't get service at my house to send them from my phone... but you"ll get em eventually.

Might be running to town in a minute though.

first off ... where did your avvy come from!? jesus. lol.

second off... you might have to cut some sheet metal as filler if the crack is too wide. but you will have to weld it.

Personally I would take it to a body shop and have the frame(I know it doesnt have a true frame) but have them measure it and get it back in to spec's if you just weld it you may have issues later on.

Not a smart choice!! the floor pans are fairly important. should be braced cut out the section thats damaged, then repaird and weld in a new panel. I dont have SFC's but they do make some nice ones out there

FML, lol...

I have a feeling this is going to get expensive.

Also I don't want to do it the "wrong" way, and leave bigger problems for me or anyone else to find later.

but seriously I might put my car up for sale after this.

I would have the unibody checked for straightness, repair if necessary, then add a 'vert's X-brace and a set of SFCs to it. Then replace the offending floor panel.

Best I can do... not our floorpan but the red outlines where/how the crack is. My dad wants to fiberglass it and be done with it, but I think that's kind of ghetto. Also the driver side is uneven, and is sitting a tad lower than the passenger side.

I tried to send the pictures from my phone but I guess I wasn't in service long enough.

I currently have my carpet out, if you want a picture to edit to show what's missing I can post it up.
