Ok this may seem like a noob question (although I AM a noob with the 2Vs) what oil pressure should I be running at on idle? I remember my 5.0s ran about 20+ but I'm reading around 16 or so, depending on how hot it is. Is it just me or is that a little low? I have been using synthetic after I bought it but I'm going to switch back to conventional at the next oil change after listening it Lake Speed (oil guru) on Adam Carolla's podcast.

You should be fine with the oil pressure you at in idle. If I recall you should be at at least 10psi per every 1,000 rpm. As far as going back to a non synthetic oil, unless you want to replace every seal in your engine, don't switch....once you go syn, you can never go back

I've only had the car about 5 months. That's what they were talking about on the podcast. If it was started with conventional then you need to continuously run conv, same with synthetic. That's my problem is I don't know what oil they used when they rebuilt it. I'm planning on rebuilding it this winter and ill always be using full synthetic.
